In response to the accusation that Twin Suns Foundation is affiliated with a group of fans known as the "Fandom Menace", we wish to make the situation absolutely clear.
There has been some question by a vocal minority of Star Wars fans on social media platforms, primarily Youtube but recently others as well, that Twin Suns Foundation has "allied" itself with a group of fans known as the "Fandom Menace" at the direction of its Board President, Brian Borg. These accusations have been made with little to no real proof and have been levied by some who have attempted character assassination on several well known personalities in the greater Expanded Universe community, including some of our volunteers.
To be 100% absolutely clear, Twin Suns Foundation associates with only one group of fans, and that is the Star Wars community. Our efforts and activities have always been intended to benefit Star Wars fans across the globe. We strongly believe that more Star Wars will be a good thing for the world as it is something so many have in common regardless of what else they may believe, what they look like or with who they are affiliated.
If you are a fan of the Star Wars franchise, we are affiliated with you. That means if you only like the movies, we are affiliated with you. If you only like Legends, we are affiliated with you. If you only like canon, we are affiliated with you. If you like both timelines or mix them, we are affiliated with you. If you have criticisms or nothing but praise, as long as you consider yourself to be a fan of Star Wars, we are affiliated with you. From the smallest fan groups both unofficial and official, to the 501st Legion to Lucasfilm itself, we are affiliated with you.
With all that said, we remain resolute in our stance that bullying and harassment have no place in the Star Wars community from any party, be it fan, media or otherwise. We have never and will never condone such actions as we as an organization and our volunteers as individuals, have been victims of both in the past.
Our focus will remain on being a positive advocate for improved literacy throughout the world via our charity activities. In addition, we will keep our focus on supporting Expanded Universe fans in their pursuit to obtain an official continuation of the Legends timeline, provided such efforts ensure that the canon timeline is also continued and that all requests are made politely and respectfully.
Simply stated, we do not affiliate with any specific sub group of Star Wars fans. We affiliate with ALL fans of the franchise. Doing otherwise would run counter to our beliefs and efforts.
We believe that our actions as advocates for positive action in the community for several years now coupled with our statements here make our stance absolutely clear. Any further attempts to slander our hard earned reputation or those of our volunteers may be considered libel and legal action may be pursued.
In response to accusations that Give Us Legends, the very entity that became Twin Suns Foundation, was behind an effort to bully and harass a Star Wars actress to the point where she left social media, we wish to make the situation crystal clear.
The accusations came about because a certain troll page, which we will not name as we do not wish to give them more attention than they already have received, claimed to be aligned with us and others within the Expanded Universe Movement. Despite a complete lack of proof, certain media entities have picked this story up and have not bothered to fact check a word, thus allowing our reputation to be increasingly damaged as these lies filter through various fan groups across the internet.
The Twin Suns Foundation Board of Directors and team members have decided that we need to make it 100% clear where Give Us Legends/Twin Suns Foundation stands on this issue and to protect our hard earned reputation.
Bullying and harassment have no place in the Star Wars community from any party, be if fan, media or otherwise. We have never and will never condone such actions as we have often been a victim of those actions ourselves in the past.
Our focus has been on getting Star Wars books into children's hospitals, libraries, Little Free Libraries and other similar such places where they are needed as often as possible.
We also assist the Expanded Universe Movement in its effort to reach the goal of obtaining a continuation of the Star Wars Legends timeline while also ensuring the continuation of Disney's new Star Wars timeline.
Simply stated, the actions we are wrongfully accused of run directly counter to our stated goals and our past actions.
We have always been and will continue to always be a positive force in the Star Wars fandom. We will not allow our name to be slandered with false accusations and libel.
